Delete your data

Last Updated:

You can delete your Starseed account and everything attached to it at any time. This page explains how, and exactly what happens — including the two things we are obliged to keep and what we do to them instead. You do not need the app or an account to read it.

1. Deleting it yourself

In the app or on the web, open Settings from your profile and choose Delete account. You will be asked to confirm once. There is no waiting period and no reactivation window: when you confirm, it is done.

2. Asking us to do it

If you cannot reach your account — a lost password, an email address you no longer control, or a device you no longer have — write to support@thesoulmatrix.com from any address and tell us the email the account uses. We will verify that it is yours before deleting anything, and we will confirm when it is done. We aim to complete this within 30 days and it is usually the same week.

3. What is deleted

Immediately and permanently:

  • Your sign-in credentials, so the account can no longer be used.
  • Your profile — display name, photograph and location.
  • Everything you saved: your library, your collections, and where you had reached in a recording.
  • Your comments and likes, and any review you wrote.
  • Your tickets and any subscription.
  • Your notification preferences and read history.

4. What is kept, and why

Two things survive, and neither of them points at you afterwards. Your account reference is removed from both, so they cannot be traced back to you by us or by anyone else.

  • Donation records — kept for seven years, because tax and accounting law requires it. The amount and the date remain; the person does not.
  • Play counts — these become part of an anonymous total. A play with no account attached is a number, not a history.

That split is the honest answer to the question: everything that identifies you goes, and the few things that legally cannot go stop identifying you.

5. What this does not cover

Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through Apple or Google — those are managed in the App Store or Play Store and have to be cancelled there, or you will continue to be billed. Emails you have already sent us are kept for two years as ordinary correspondence; ask and we will remove those too.

6. Your other rights

Deletion is one of several rights you have. You can also ask for a copy of what we hold, correct anything wrong, or object to a particular use. The Privacy Policy sets these out in full, along with your right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
